Our Master of Ceremonies for 2024

Henry-Olonga-Head-Shot-update-300x390

Henry Olonga - Second Chances SA Ambassador

Henry Olonga made his international cricketing debut in 1995, becoming the youngest player and first black cricketer to play for Zimbabwe and helping his team to its first ever Test victory.

Henry achieved international recognition in 2003 by wearing a black armband in a Cricket World Cup match to protest against the policies of Zimbabwe’s government. Following this incident Henry had to flee Zimbabwe in fear of his life, finding refuge in England.

You may also remember Henry from "The Voice" where he turned 3 chairs and teamed up with winning coach, Kelly Rowland. Today Henry continues to love to sign & perform but also competes in track and field events like javelin and shot put.

A multi-talented individual that resides in Adelaide with him family and who is proud to be an ambassador for an organisation that wants children to break free of a cycle of crime and poverty, and remake themselves into whatever they want to be.

Come along and meet Henry, who is our master of ceremonies for the evening. You never know, he might even be persuaded to sing a song to wow and entertain us. You will just have to buy a ticket to find out!

Cathrine Greven

Director of the Glenside Lions Art Show and a member of Lions International for over 9 years.

Art is my passion and supporting art/artists and the community my mission and I am so thrilled to have Kick Start for Kids as our beneficiary Charity for 2023.

I hope you enjoy the art, buy some art (get the story from the artist and what inspired them, so you can relate that story and your own as to how it speaks to you) and all the activities we have put together for 2023.

We are working tirelessly to put on another Art Show that will support amateur artists along with support Kick Start for Kids and their clients with the local businesses and communities support.

We encourage you to support those businesses that support your community and these kinds of events.

Mayor of the city of Burnside - Anne Monceaux

It has been my privilege to serve our community as a Councillor for 8+ years. I care for Burnside, its people, history, trees, parks and playgrounds. I value our library, pool, ovals, art and community centres, our service clubs, churches, community programs and volunteers. I support healthy communities, the Regal, open space and revegetation. I have always lived in Burnside and have helped many individuals and sporting groups with facility improvements, local traffic and development issues.

I retired as a Head of Middle School and now teach future educators as a University Casual Academic. I listen, take a collaborative approach to problem-solving and am honest in my dealings. I support transparency. I oppose secrecy, excessive legal action and debt. I will continue to use balanced judgement, be forthright and argue for protecting our heritage and trees. I support our older, younger, disabled and new citizens, as Burnside undergoes change.
