Prizes and Judging Procedures
Pre-Selection Panel
- Each year the Organisers appoint a Pre-Selection panel to review entries.
- The Panel will initially review and assess all submissions received, and will decide which works will be invited to exhibit at the Art Show. At this time we will accept all works of art, but reserve the right to reject any pieces of art that are not acceptable. Our decision is final.
- The Show Judge/s may or may not be part of the Pre-Selection panel.
- All decisions on acceptances are final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.
- 1st prize winner ($2,000 prize money).
- 2nd Prize winner ($750 prize money).
- 3rd Prize winner ($250 prize money).
- PLUS up to 5 highly commended (no prize money) awards.
- People's choice (voted by the public) at this time $100 prize money.
- Encouragement Award a voucher from Adelaide Central School of Art up to the value of $425
Awards are announced on opening night and all artists are again invited to attend opening night, complimentary (NOTE your guests must pay the $40 entry fee).
We will broadcast the winners on opening night, the website, via email and announced on Facebook.
Show Judging
- Each year the Organisers appoint 3 external Art Show Judge/s for the Show and for 2026 we have
1. Anne Monceaux - Major of Burnside
2. Suzanne Close, Public Programs Coordinator at the Adelaide Central School of Arts.
3. Cathrine Greven - Director of The Glenside Lions Art Show
- Judging takes place in July and winners will be announced at the Gala Opening and via email thereafter.
- Artists are eligible for a free ticket to the Opening Night (tickets can be purchased online via Humanitix or go to the Gala Night tab within this website and book your free ticket. NOTE one ticket only per artist.
Awards Night
For the past few years, we have held a separate evening at the Burnside Council where we invite all the winners, the charity and volunteers to celebrate the event and present awards and the cheque to the charity. This will be invitation only after the event.
